Fishscale Tiles

Fish Scale TilesThe new subject to rave about

Let's face it- mermaids have always been in style. The first "Little Mermaid" movie was released in 1989 and it is still highly watched today. Fish scale styles are used on floors, walls, as back splash, or in a shower- but not all at once. These tiles can range in color from white to grey to blue to orange to black and everything else in between, but prepare to pay a pretty penny for this new look. They range from tiny tiles that are about 1" x 1" to fairly large floor tiles that can be 10" x 10". The tiles can be placed to look as if they are going up, or look like they are going down. Because this tile is considered a back splash no matter where you put it, you're looking to pay around $15-$25 per square foot just for installation. It also takes more grout than many other jobs would. Do you think that it is worth it? If you're going for a beach-look, I would definitely use small white fish scale tiles as a back splash in a kitchen or larger blue-green or rainbow tiles as an accent wall in a bathroom.
